VTX1’s Decision to Discontinue Video Service
VTX1 Companies has had to make the difficult decision to discontinue television services by the end of year 2018 for our VTXC customers. Unfortunately, the cost to provide TV Service is no longer a financially sound option for the exorbitant costs being paid towards programming. In addition, local station and video content costs have been increasing at 20 to 30% per year which has necessitated an increase in fees to our customers. It has become apparent that to break even, we would need to almost double our monthly service fees, which is not a viable solution.
In addition to increasing costs, a technology trend is evolving that further limits our potential for growth in television viewers, and that’s the viewing of television content over the internet using applications such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and a host of others. Potential viewers can purchase a “box” at a store or online to connect it to their television with an internet connection, then view television and movie content for a fraction of what it costs to subscribe to our 250 plus channels that we offer and other traditional cable providers.
As you can see, between the rapidly rising cost of content and the move to alternative viewing patterns created by new technology, we will join many other companies like ours who are leaving the television business to concentrate on providing even higher broadband service offerings to support these new viewing habits.

What is the date for the discontinuation of TV service?
December 31, 2018 for VTXC customers
What options do I have to return the equipment associated to my TV services?
Options are as follows:
- Return the equipment to one of our business office locations
- Dispose of the equipment in an environmentally safe way via your closest local recycling center
- Mail the equipment to: VTX1 Companies, Attn: Warehouse Dept., 10265 N. FM 88, Lasara, TX 78561
- Present it to any VTX1 technician/employee in the field for return
What happens if I don’t turn in the equipment associated to my TV services?
There will be NO CHARGE to you if you don’t return the equipment. Please keep in mind that this equipment WILL NOT be useable elsewhere.
Will I receive a credit for returning the equipment associated to my TV services?
There will not be a credit issued for the return of the equipment, only the disconnection of the service. Please note — there will be NO CHARGE to you if you don’t return the equipment associated to your TV services.
What will happen to my bill when I disconnect my TV services?
Your bill will be pro-rated for unused TV service from the time of disconnect to the end of the month
Will I get a credit?
You will receive a credit on TV services not rendered for the remainder of the month.
How quickly will a credit be issued?
The credit will be recorded in our accounting system on the same day that services are disconnected. You will see the credit on your next bill.

Why wasn’t I asked if I was willing to pay more for TV service?
It was determined that increasing the TV subscription price would not overcome the costs for programming to sustain the cost of delivering the service.
Why wasn’t I, as a VTXC customer, informed about the discontinuation of TV service?
This information was sent in 2 previous notifications with your monthly bill in November and December.
Where will VTX1 content be moving?
- VTX1 content will be added as a channel on any Roku device. In the future, this content will also be available for Apple TV.
