Matthew Kiefer was born in Atchison, KS to Paul and Connie Kiefer and moved to Raymondville at the age of four. Matthew attended the Raymondville Independent School District from kindergarten through high school and graduated in the top 10% of his class in June of 1990. He attended the University of Texas Pan American for four years with a major in accounting. He married Mary Ann Massey of Lyford on May 28th 1994, settled in Lasara in 1995, and has three children, Jacklynn, Lauren, and Matthew Dalton, and two grandsons Asher, and Seth. Matthew purchased Watson’s City Drug in Raymondville in June of 1995 and through its continued growth and success has been able to give back to the community through numerous sponsorships and donations. In 1999 he entered a joint venture with his brother, Dana, and they currently own and operate several commercial and residential rental properties. In 2021 after 26 successful years Matthew sold Watson’s City Drug and retired in order to spend more time with his growing family.
